Exandria Unlimited: Calamity Q&A with Aabria Iyengar
Written by Nicole on June 14, 2022
Since Exandria Unlimited: Calamity is coming to an end, we are wrapping up our very last Q&A with Aabria Iyengar!
With so many new storytellers in this special mini-series, we thought it would be fun to share a little more about our Calamity Cast with a Q&A! HOWEVER, to make it a little more spicy, we made our Q&A “End of the World” themed to match the Calamity vibe.
Each week during Calamity, check back here at critrole.com to learn more about these heroic characters and the cast bringing this story to life!
Let’s finish things off with the witty and wonderful, Aabria Iyengar!
Tell us a little bit about you and your character in Exandria Unlimited: Calamity.
Look, we all understood the assignment from Brennan – this story is a tragedy and a disaster movie rolled into one. But I built Laerryn Coramar-Seelie to be a beefy lil wizard that just might survive the end of the world. (She might end up causing the end of the world too but don’t worry about that.)
Let’s imagine that some sort of unavoidable disaster is on the brink, you’ve found some sort of way to accept it and start planning for the absolute best event of your life. What would you do and who would accompany you?
Bold of you to think that I have the wisdom and grace to accept the inevitable, but I’ll play along…I think it’s gotta be getting all my closest friends onto a private tropical island and cutting the signal from the outside world. If everything is ending, there’s no need to watch it all go down on the news – let’s enjoy some margs and watch the (last) sunset.
In your opinion, what is the most iconic fictional death in popular media?
Harold Perrinaeu’s Mecutio in Romeo + Juliet was unmatched, and the power of him dying with a curse on his lips shook me as a kid and has stayed with me for years.
Do you have a bucket list? If so, tell us all about it.
It’s less of a bucket list and more a list of increasingly risky magics that inevitably force the concept of Death to come claim me before I corrupt the timeline beyond repair. And then, like the Matron of Ravens, I destroy Death and claim his dominion. Wait, what was the question?
What do you want people to remember you for?
I hope people remember me for the stories I’ve told and hopefully encouraged others to tell too. And for becoming the new god of Death. Either. Both.
Tune into the finale of Exandria Unlimited: Calamity this Thursday at 7pm Pacific on Twitch and YouTube!
