The Tales of Exandria — The Bright Queen – Available Now!
The Tales of Exandria series expands our stories beyond the adventuring groups you know and love to encompass the complex NPCs and locations of Exandria, incredibly imagined by Matthew Mercer. In this mini-series, the Bright Queen Leylas Kryn has spent multiple lives in pursuit of assembling the otherworldly Luxon. So, when another piece appears nearby, Leylas sends her eternal lover Quana to collect it… with consequences that may threaten the entire Dynasty! Hope for the future clashes with darkness from the past in a stellar story.
We are excited for you to fall in love with this mini-series and our special edition, as we have. The Tales of Exandria — The Bright Queen was created by Matthew Mercer and written by Darcy Van Poelgeest (Little Bird), with stunning interior art by CoupleofKooks (Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount), lettering by Ariana Maher (James Bond, Xena), and coloring by Cris Peter (Casanova). See how the full series came together by enjoying the behind-the-scenes sketchbook section, as well as a gallery featuring the cover art from each individual issue!
The limited edition includes:
- A purple faux leather book and case, burnished and foil-stamped with a beautiful Luxon beacon-inspired design
- A cloth portfolio with a litho print of the Bright Queen herself by Helen Mask

Vox Machina Origins Volume 3 – On Sale November 2nd
The third series of the celebrated Vox Machina Origins comics, exploring stories of Vox Machina from the campaign adventures before the show, gets its own limited edition exclusive to Critical Role shops on November 2nd!
In Vox Machina Origins Volume 3, Vox Machina enjoys a week in Westruun’s lap of luxury leading up to the Winter’s Crest Festival. But that costs coin, which has a bad habit of running out, so they join an underground fighting ring and bash their way to cash. Unfortunately, their ring-fighting turns out to be just a warm-up for a cold reality when a mysterious attack on Winter’s Crest festivities leaves the whole town magically frozen—including one of their own. Vox Machina will have to save the day again, against a much bigger foe than they first realized!
This misadventurous tale is brought to us by the incredible team of Jody Houser (Orphan Black, Stranger Things), Olivia Samson (Vox Machina Origins Volumes 1 and 2), MSASSYK (Isola, Gotham Academy), Diana Sousa (Crowded), and Ariana Maher (James Bond, Xena). Inside, you’ll also find a sketchbook section featuring characters and cover art: watch the covers of each issue develop from sketch to final!
The limited edition includes:
- A blue faux leather book and case with an intricate Vox Machina monogram design, burnished and stamped with holographic foil
- A cloth portfolio with a litho by Alex Monik
Look for it in all Critical Role shops on Wednesday November 2nd, 2022, at 9am Pacific. We can’t wait for you to get a look at this stunning tome!
