HYPE: Exandria Unlimited Premieres June 24th!
Written by Christina on June 10, 2021
For the past few months, we’ve been hard at work on a top secret project and the latest addition to the Critical Role family: our brand new show, Exandria Unlimited!
Check out our State of the Role announcement below to learn all about our new show and meet our wonderful new crew of players!
Now that you’ve been formally introduced, read on to learn more about the amazing humans behind Exandria Unlimited!
You may recognize Aabria Iyengar from her appearances on our shows Critter Hug, Narrative Telephone, and our recent The Elder Scrolls Online one-shot and we can’t wait for you all to fall in love with her as the Game Master of Exandria Unlimited!
Aabria began her tabletop roleplaying career nearly a decade ago, starting off first as a hobby, in part by watching Critical Role, and has since continued to hone her skills with campaigns featured on Happy Jacks RPG and on other popular channels such as Saving Throw, Hyper RPG, and Dimension 20. She has also written for games like Mall Kids, Demigods, and Lighthearted.
Aabria is set to lead the Exandria Unlimited players through her original and intricately woven narrative, threaded deeply into the tapestry of Tal’Dorei. She has worked extensively to craft an enthralling journey for viewers, incorporating her own flavor and spin into Exandria.
Aabria can be found on Twitter at @quiddie.
While new to roleplaying games, Aimee Carrero is a well-practiced crafter of character and story, and her excitement for the game raises the energy across the table. She’s a true RPG master in the making.
Aimee is an actor of Dominican/Puerto Rican roots, known for her roles in live-action and animation, including the starring role of Sofia Rodriguez in the Freeform original comedy Young & Hungry, playing Disney’s first Latina princess, Elena Castillo Flores, in Elena of Avalor, and as the title role of She-Ra in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
Her recent credits include recurring roles on NBC’s Blindspot and The Village, and FX’s The Americans, and with film roles in Lionsgate’s The Last Witch Hunter, and FOX’s The Devil’s Due. Her latest film, Wander Darkly premiered in Dramatic Feature Competition at the 2020 Sundance Festival, where she stars opposite Sienna Miller and Diego Luna. In March 2021, Aimee joined the cast of the highly anticipated The Boys Spinoff for Amazon Prime.
Creating alongside Robbie Daymond is an absolute joy for everyone involved on Exandria Unlimited. We’re positive you’ll love the hype he brings to the table as well as his quick humor and generous smile with all that Rad Dad energy he claims.
Robbie is best known for his role as the current voice of Spider-man/Peter Parker in the Marvel Animated Universe (Marvel’s Spider-man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers Assemble & Black Panther), Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon, Prompto in Final Fantasy XV, Akechi in Persona 5, Megumi in Jujutsu Kaisen, Jesse in Infinity Train: Book II, Chico Bon Bon in Chico Bon Bon, and Sway Sway in Breadwinners, among hundreds of others.
While Robbie is best known for his voice acting work, he’s taken to this new storytelling form with gusto, largely thanks to having grown up as a huge fantasy nerd with an MFA in Theater and heavy background in improv, making him a perfect addition to Critical Role Land.
Throughout his years as a Game Master, our very own Matthew Mercer has created scores of brilliant and beloved Exandrian NPCs such as Gilmore, Allura, and Kima from the Vox Machina campaign and Pumat Sol, Essek, and Yussa from the Mighty Nein campaign. We are thrilled to see Matthew take on exactly one new character for Exandria Unlimited.
Matthew plays many pivotal roles within the company, including Chief Creative Officer. As CCO, Matthew helps shape the overall creative vision of the company, guiding us toward new stories… like Exandria Unlimited!
In addition to Critical Role, Matthew’s extensive training in theater, improv, and being a life-long hardcore gamer helped prepare him for mainstream pop culture projects and characters such as: McCree in Overwatch, Hermes in Netflix’s Blood of Zeus, Yusuke Kitagawa in Persona 5 Royal & Persona 5 Strikers, Captain Levi in Attack on Titan, Goro Majima in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Gangplank and Kindred (Wolf) in League of Legends, Rexxar, Nefarian, and Ragnaros in Hearthstone, Trafalgar Law in One Piece, Kanji Tatsumi in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona Q, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night, Jotaro Kujo in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Chrom in Fire Emblem: Awakening, Fire Emblem Heroes and Super Smash Bros, and numerous other projects.

Our resident monstah Ashley Johnson has appeared in Critical Role as Pike Trickfoot, the Gnome Cleric, in Campaign 1 and Yasha Nydoorin, the Aasimar Barbarian, in Campaign 2. Now, she’s taking on a brand new role for Exandria Unlimited!
In addition to being a co-founder of Critical Role, Ashley also serves as the president of the Critical Role Foundation, leading our mission to leave the world better than we found it.
Ashley started her career at a very young age and has continued to evolve and grow within the film, television and voice acting industries. In addition to Critical Role, Ashley is known for her roles as Ellie in The Last of Us franchise, Gordys in Tales From the Borderlands, Terra in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!, Gwen Tennyson in Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben 10: Omniverse, Tulip in Infinity Train, Petra in Minecraft: Storymode and Gretchen Grundler in Recess. You likely know our very own Liam O’Brien as Half-Elf Rogue/Paladin Vax’ildan or Human Wizard Caleb Widogast from our Critical Role campaigns. As a co-founder of Critical Role, he’s heavily involved in the curation of our comic and art books.
Liam is also a veteran voice actor, having worked on over 400 video game and animation projects, including playing Dr. Strange in Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Avengers Assemble, Marvel Battle Lines, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Marvel Future Avengers, Yogar Lyste, Morad Sumar and Supply Master Yogar Lyste in Star Wars: Rebels, Professor Maelstrom, Boris and Vlad in Carmen Sandiego, Gihren Zab in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, Gaara in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Naruto: Shippûden, Knight Tex Rogers, Doctor Kessle and Ranger Simon in Fallout 76, Gollum in Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, Reverse-Flash / Brainiac 5 in Injustice 2, Nephrite in Sailor Moon Crystal, War in Darksiders I, II & III, Nightcrawler in Wolverine and the X-Men and hundreds more.
