A Special Anniversary Update (State of the Role)
Written by Rachel on June 18, 2019
It’s been exactly one year since we opened the doors to Critical Role Land, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than a quick update video from our home to yours.
In the past year, we’ve accomplished some pretty amazing things, none of which could have been done without your help:
- Raised $300k+ to help support children with cancer with Pablove, assist active and veteran military members with Operation Supply Drop, develop creative writing programs for our local community with 826LA, and help end childhood poverty with Stephen Colbert and Red Nose Day. Thank you so much for sharing, donating to our campaigns, and joining us on our mission to leave the world a little better than we found it.
- We also launched our own Twitch and YouTube channels with brand new shows including Pub Draw with Babs Tarr, Travis Willingham’s Yee-Haw Game Ranch, All Work No Play, Between the Sheets, MAME Drop, and Handbooker Helper. We created an entire puppet universe, learned how to draw from a super cool professional artist, explored some of the best retro video games, and spent some quality time with Critical Role’s hot dads as they found their own adventures.
- Monthly cosplay galleries have made their way to critrole.com! It’s truly an honor to showcase the amazing creativity and work the cosplay community puts into bringing our characters to life.
- We had the great opportunity to meet so many of you at our first-ever art show and The Search for Grog live show here in Los Angeles, our live show in NYC, New York Comic Con, Emerald City Comic Con, Denver Pop Culture Con, and London MCM. We had live shows on both coasts and finally made it over the pond to the UK!
- Our UK fulfillment center is open for business! And we’re continuing to add in more products as they become available.
- You raised an unbelievable $11M+ to help us make an animated Vox Machina series… AN ENTIRE SERIES, which is coming in Fall 2020 from an incredible team of creatives at Titmouse Animation.
There aren’t enough words to properly thank for your support and love. We are beyond humbled that we―together as a community―have been able to accomplish so many cool things in such a short amount of time. We have a lot of tricks up our sleeves for the months ahead, and hope that you will continue on this crazy adventure with us.
