My parents were in the wine making business. Some halflings just deal in wine a lot, and a lot did in Kamordah and then my parents wanted me to keep up with the books and all that stuff so it forced me to learn halfling. I was around it a lot. I had kinda a lonely childhood. I didn’t have a lot of friends. My father was… very protective because of certain things he believed… so I wasn’t allowed to have a lot of friends… really any friends. In my loneliness I just got angry and turned to bad things. My dad was super protective and I was an asshole and rebelled a lot. You know, so some connections, started getting involved in some mainly illegal trading. I got in really big trouble from my parents because I started syphoning his cases of wine and selling them underground for half the cost, without tariffs. On top of other things. I don’t know. I just grew to hate the town that I was in and the system that my father was a part of. My whole life was dictated by establishment that I didn’t have a lot of control over. He wasn’t a bad person. I think he just had bad direction. I don’t know, he could’ve been a good dad. He was a shitty dad and a good businessman. When my father wanted me to take over the business… He was a piece of shit but something that he said has been sticking out in my head lately. I don’t know if he ever followed his own advice, but he said, “Try and hire people who don’t agree with you all the time. Surround yourself with people with different opinions.” One day, he found out about what I was doing after I’d already gotten in trouble for, you know, a little bit of mild extortion, a little bit of trading, little bit of trafficking. So I think he was already pretty irritated with me. Then he found out about my smuggling scheme with his wine. I was forced to leave behind the first real person I loved. Her [text obscured]... She [obscured] a little bit older than me, you know… So it was like… She kinda [obscured] the ropes [obscured]. She was great. She was my um… literal partner in crime for [obscured] got busted with. So we were both arrested together and the ne [obscured] there and busted me out of jail. Paid bail… and I think made [obscured] with the guards… I don’t know… Who knows what happened [obscured] she’s dead. She was one tough bitch. One day, he called me down into the living room [obscured] up of monks and people in black. I tried to fight them off and [obscured] drug me away. My dad paid to have me abducted by monks, y [obscured] ad. I think he was hoping that they were [obscured]. Instead, I think all of the things that my father [obscured] a potential advantage. So, in a weird way [obscured] me. I mean, I still never really [obscured] again, either. In fact, he [obscured]. My name’s B [obscured]. rents… when I [obscured] that they didn’t [obscured] me to come [obscured]. I was at the [obscured].
