UNDEADWOOD: A Closer Look at Our Portrait Art by Kent Davis

Written by on October 25, 2019

If you’ve had a chance to check out our newest four-part mini-series, UnDeadwood, you may have seen the jaw-dropping character portrait art, created by our friend and fellow Critter Kent Davis (@iDrawBagMan).

Our incomparable Game Marshal himself, Brian W. Foster, wanted to share a few words about Kent’s work.

Years ago, I asked Kent Davis to design my first ever D&D character, and I have been dying for an opportunity to work with him again. I had been a fan of the gorgeous and often emotional landscape and large-scale world pieces Kent had been drawing, but I knew how strong and thoughtful his character designs turn out.

Ivan Van Norman, who produced UnDeadwood with me, immediately concurred with my choice, and we reached out to Kent to see if he was available. He was gracious with our schedule and wanted as much info as we could give him about each character, because it all factors in for him. As you get to know these characters, I urge you to come back to these portraits, you may see something you missed or didn’t know to look for just yet — All thanks to Kent.

— Brian W. Foster

We are so incredibly thankful to Kent for allowing us to showcase his art in our new show and we hope that you enjoy larger versions of his artwork below.

And huge, Grog-sized thanks to Kent — we love and appreciate you!
